Steganosaur is a personal project inspired by the idea of steganography, the art of making messages that don’t appear to be messages. It is a tool that allows users to create encrypted messages, save them, share them, and collect their own archives of them. You can download your message as an image, save it publicly to the explore page, save it without translation, or save it for your own personal viewing.
I was compelled by the idea that while something may be visible to the public, it cannot be understood unless the author chooses to allow that. Because the encryption is a colorful, geometric pattern, someone could potentially display it physically or digitally anywhere and have others perceive it as simply a design. The author alone knows the hidden meaning.
